summer is almost totally upon us here in alberta. we've had some cold bouts but today
was definately beautiful and summer-like.
i'm hoping that this summer is going to be fantastic and full of fabulous
memories for the H household.
i decided it was time for another vision board. this one is a
mix between a birthday wish and summer wish.
starting from the top:
i always thought a baby pink adirondack chair would make me smile.
there is currently a non stained/painted one on my deck at this moment.
hubs thinks i should stain it a bright colour. i'm toying with painting
it milk jug by beauti-tone. after seeing this pic - undecided.
the canoe photo is what i want to do this summer with my boys
on one of our trips into the bc interior.

don't you think it would be fantastic to hang in the master bathroom??
atleast once this summer, i would like my hubby to take me on a movie date.
it's been years since we've been. 
the last time we attempted a movie date was for "the hangover" .
it was sold out in all three of the cinemas near our home.
we brought home dairy queen and hung out with our babysitter (baba). 
for my birthday, i'm making these snicker bars. i might share.

It’s not very often I admit to this feeling but extenuating circumstances are allowing me to share this with you.

I’ve been overwhelmed.

{ I said it .. *commence meditative breathing now* in thru nose out thru mouth *}

So I apologize for the late winner announcements . Things have been a wee bit hectic here at the H household. We attempted our first camping trip of the season only to return home early at the request of family and the local police detachment to find our home broken into and ransacked. While our home wasn’t as bad as the rest of the list of people that were violated that evening , it left us with many many things to do and on a roller coaster of emotions. I do hope that none of you have to ever deal with a situation such as this. Luckily, nobody was home or injured.  However, dealing with all of this has put a few things on the back burner. Promises of calling friends that I haven’t seen in months , camping plans , and in general, family plans that now have to wait and of course, blogging. On the outside I may not look as busy as I feel … But between taking care of the house, my child, the dog , myself and my husband, visiting family, the yard work, my own personal projects , our new roommate (whom we are loving!) habitating the craft room, finishing the basement so that said roommate has a space of her own,  grocery shopping, learning to cook for another adult in the house and making sure there’s enough left overs for roomie and hubby to take to work ( what a challenge sometimes!), visitors and avoiding swarms of mosquitoes .. it’s been hard enough to find time to shower!

so please bear with me while i wade through the “to do” lists ..

When I discovered this shop on Etsy, I had to see if Petite Creation would be interested in joining in the LoveCake fun. I wanted to see just how tiny these pieces are. And boy oh boy! They are super tiny!!!And the detail is incredible! Some of the pieces look real enough to want to take a bite out of..

Petite Creation sent me an item for review that I would love to share a photo of with me wearing them, however, our home was broken into quite recently  {no one was home! but more on that in a later post } and with exception to my wedding rings, all of my jewelry was stolen. Adorable Chocolate Dipped Strawberry post earrings {that look super cute on!} included. But I will say that , I enjoyed wearing them , wish I took a photo of me in them , and thought it was funny to see people trying to get a closer look at my ears. But! The good news is, the burglars (do we still call them that?) didn’t ransack my craft room too badly and left my next item up for the giveaway alone :

Along with this sweet little ring, I wanted to include an item from a family friend. Her name is Lynne, and she lives quite close to my mother in law in a beautiful community in BC. She has a really awesome shop in her home that allows her and her husband (!) to do glass work. Glass work has always intrigued me. Lynne and her hubby are super talented and very creative with their pieces. They have done some very large works of art such as windows and benches for the garden right down to the little decorative hanging items that you place in your window…Such as this pretty item below : It’s inspiration, if I recall correctly, came from the colourful row houses/ski homes on Mount Silverstar in Vernon,B.C.

Let’s be honest, it’s been a busy first quarter of the year. Especially here at the ol’ LoveCake residence. I feel like we’ve been a revolving door, hotel, one stop shop and dumping grounds (that’s with reference to my closet..) And I’m worn out. But there’s something about winning stuff that makes everyone feel recharged and so here we go again with another giveaway for all you faithful followers of LoveCake!
